Kia ora koutou,

Orienteering Wellington, together with Orienteering Hutt Valley & Red Kiwi Orienteers, is hosting the Oceania Orienteering Championships in January 2025. This is the major event on our competition calendar, we are planning for 600-800 competitors or more, and we will need your help to make it a successful event.

For more about the event, see https://www.oceaniao.nz/

The event days are:

Sprint: Fri Jan 24th, Earliest Volunteer duty = 9am

Middle: Sat Jan 25th, Earliest Volunteer duty =7am

Long: Sun Jan 26th, Earliest Volunteer duty = 7am

Relay: Mon Jan 27th, Earliest Volunteer duty = 7am

We are requesting your commitment to volunteer for some or all of the four event days or for pre-event tasks. The volunteer plan for an event this large is to have teams of volunteers for each task e.g. Event Centre Setup, Start Team, Pack Down Team, etc. Ideally volunteers will be on the same team every day. There will be non-team volunteer roles also. A volunteer duty will be for a maximum of 2-2.5 hrs, with a few exceptions.

In recognition of the cost of volunteering at an away event the Oceania Committee is offering a Koha for each day a volunteer is on duty. The Koha will be distributed after the Oceania event.

The volunteer schedule is planned to be published early December (or earlier). Please complete the form on the link below as best you can.
