The Sprint event was great fun, starting in the Marine Park at Raumati Beach and finishing at Kapiti High School. The Marine Park had lots of variety with hills, a miniature railway track, and playgrounds to navigate through, and garden beds to navigate around.the school buildings had some tricky controls placed in small alcoves and a few artificial barriers to make the route choices more difficult.

The Long event in the pine forest at Waiterere Beach was held in the rain. Being in the forest, we were sheltered from the worst of the rain, judging by the puddles that had appeared when we left.

The Manawatu/Whanganui region was well represented with about 12 who are current club members and several more competitors from Pelmerston North Boys High School.

Notable results for the Long were Sophie who came 1st out of 9 in Year 7/8 Girls Standard, Hannah (10th) and Hazel (12th)/16 in Year 7/8 Girls Championship, George who came 5th/8 in Years 7/8 Boys Standard and in Year 7/8 Boys Championship we had Hugo in 1st place, followed by Tom in 9th, Liam in 12th, Joey in 13th and Harry in 14th out of 14 successful competitors.

Ollie from PNBH came 1st/5 in Junior Boys Standard. In Junior Boys Championship Bruce had a solid run to come 12th of 22, followed up by Alec in 16th place and Jacob C in 20th. Johnathon from PNBH came 1st/13 in Intermediate Boys Standard, with Sam F.B coming in in 10th.

Jakob A achieved 6th place in the 41 strong field of Intermediate Boys Championship, with James in 24th, Tom from PNBH 4/7 in Senior Boys Standard, including the fastest finish split in his grade, and Ben I. a good 23rd/30 in Senior Boys Championship - the longest and most difficult race for the day.

The Sunday Relay for teams of 3 at Spicer Botanical Park in Porirua was held in fine, but slippery conditions. Not all competitors stayed for this day, but there was still a big crowd. At the time of writing the boys from Huntley School did really well. The relays often end up with composite teams, who have just as much fun as those who can field whole teams from their schools
